2-6-10
I woke up around 9ish or so. I checked emails and relaxed. Finally Michele and Natalia and I headed out. We dropped off some laundry and then headed to breakfast. We chatted about various topics, it was enjoyable. We then tried to go to the market to make some purchases, but it was too rainy. We then took a cab to a bus station. We are planning to go Pisac, a place of ruins, tomorrow and then went to the pharmacy because the girls are a bit under the weather.
On the way back to the hostel, I saw a bookstore I plan to check out this coming week. I read and watched some shows. I continued to relax before having a lovely Skype date with Abbey. It was nice to talk to her. I then got my laundry and some dinner. I ate chicken, rice, fries and noodles. I ate my dinner with Michele. It was nice. I then facebooked and watched the rest of the Harry Potter with some Brits. After that we plan to watch another movie then no idea.
I have decided that I am going to go to Mendoza and maybe Cordoba instead of going to Patagonia. I am doing to save money and since I prob will come to South America another time to see what I won´t see this journey, I will go to Patagonia then. This way, I can go horseriding and other things.
My life and travels through mine and others words, pictures, movies and music.

Another show down
2-5-10
After my late night, I woke up around 10ish. I hung out most of the morning. Showering and relaxing. I wrote part of my article for the Guilfordian about my volunteer work. I then relaxed and ate lunch and watched Friends. I talked to some people who are leaving soon.
After a while, we all headed to school. In art class, we made a tree and had the children make animals, fruits, and more for the tree. It was interesting to see what they came up with. Eventually, we got in our families and tried to get the children to focus on presenting. Some of the children really knew the information, while others didn´t. The show took forever, with rain coming. I was getting impatient. Some of the presentations were good and really interesting, others were meh. Mine went ok. The kids did ok but the pinata failed. After the show, we had our meeting but got it short.
I then went to dinner at Jack´s since Justin was leaving tonight. It was pretty good to chat. Then Michele and I walked back together. We are doing breakfast, running errands and planning Sunday. Then I watched Harry Potter with some people before bed.

Another late night...
2-4-10
I woke up at ten because I went to bed at 1 after talking and hanging with the Argentines on their last night. I hung out and read for a bit. I then checked things online. My financial advisor at Guilford told me that I have to either try other or medical as my reason for applying off campus. I am currently trying to contact my doctor in Greensboro to sign off on it. He might have to exaggerate. Ugh. I then did some errands like get lunch and get a fake Argentine jersey for tonight.
Back at the hostel, I briefly talked to Abbey and watched the most recent episode of the office. I also looked at plane prices and I am trying to decide between Mendoza and Patagonia. There are pros and cons to both. I then hung out before school and discussed the plan for tomorrow. At the school in the art class, we made drawings that represented the values of the school. Some were really good, others were abstract per say. In the circle, we tried to play a game but the kids were too rowdy that we didn´t. In family time, we tried to the kids to focus. They kept fighting over rolls. The pinata was crazy and the kids fought over the goodies. I then headed to my hostel.
After a while, all of us who were going to the volunteer dinner left. It was a lot of fun. We ate delicious food and laughed at all our costumes. I got to meet a lot of the other volunteers who I had only basically said hi to before. Some went to USC. It was interesting hearing some people´s backgrounds. Some played bananagrams. After a while, we played 7 games of Flip cup that brought us Americans back to college. Then after that we hung out for a bit. Then around 11ish, some of us went to a bar called Bullfrogs because all the money raised was going to the people who lost their homes. After being there for a bit, we went to the club we went to last week. Equally as fun. So crazy. Electronic clubs are so much better than Hip Hop clubs. We all danced and sang and laughed. So much fun. Eventually around 2 something, three British girls and I headed back to the hostel and passed out.

Glitter, the chicken pox of art supplies.
Day 23 (2-3-10)
So I woke up around 9ish. I finished the other book I was reading leaving me with "The Road" currently. I showered and ate breakfast. I then watched Lost online. The season premiere was even more amazing than I could have ever imagine. I can´t wait for next week. After, I hung out for a bit before I ate lunch. I also printed some pancho patterns for the children. I hung out at my hostel till school time.
After, I headed to the school. In art, we made animal masks and more. The children are so cute but sure are messy. After, we had the circle time. In the family, we made ponchos and skirts for our show on Friday. The boys mostly copied the example pattern while the girls were more freestyle. It was interesting. After, we found out the theme for the party tomorrow. It is deportes. Then, some of us went to watch an "indoor" soccer game that Richard and Justin were partcipating in. It was a lot of fun. After I hung out with the Argentines who leave tomorrow.

Another book down
Day 22 (2-2-10)
Today I woke up around 9ish. I read for a bit, finishing Motorcycle Diaries (I only have the Road left, I hope to make it last till Buenos Aires where I found an English bookstore). Good as before. Then I chilled for a bit before I got breakfast. I went and bought some bread. After, I hung out with people and ate. I then was able to chat with Abbey for a bit. Then I hung out at the hostel. Had some spìcy dish for lunch but it was good. I watched some Friends with an Argentine. Then I talked to my partner about the plan for the day. We decided on some facts for Mexico to explain to the kids.
After, we headed to the school. There my art class made things for the posters to get more recruits for volunteering. Some of the children were really artistic. I was really impressed with them. One girl was really adorable. Every time she would put something to dry, I would chase her back into the class and I would get a big smile from. She is really cute. I will get a picture of her. After, we had circle time where girls played with my glasses. Then it was family time. We finished the pinatas. Then we played a matching game that I had orchestrated with different information about Mexico for Friday. Then we colored. Then milk time.
After, I quickly talked to Abbey but had to run because people were impatient for food. We ate a cheap but really nice vegetarian resturant. We got a lot for the money we paid for. I quite enjoyed it. It was Justin, Michele, Natalia, Niko, Richard and two British girls traveling with Richard. We eventually left. Some of us watched Mystic River.

Dirty hands
Day 21 (2-1-10)
I woke up around 9ish and cleaned up my room for a bit. Then I relaxed and read for a bit. Eventually I was able to chat with Abbey for a bit. It was nice. She finally gets to ride on a train. I also talked to Kelsey who was trying to convince me to come to North Carolina during my summer. I looked at flights and it was 400 US roundtrip just I don´t know my summer plans so obviously I couldn´t go book it without not knowing my plans. I also looked at the off campus application. I am trying to see if I can do it for financial reasons, then medical then try other. We shall see. Eventually I had to say bye and went to get food.
After food, I walked back to my hostel. There I talked game plan with the people who were in the art class with me for the week. Then we all headed to school. Today was my first day with the art class and the tigres (age 4-6). The art class, we made mobiles. Some kids were naturals at it but others had time focusing. I had to sit down a kid several times. In the circle, I had some of the young girls who were in group playing with my glasses. Then we broke up into our familes.
We told the children that we were going to be Mexico. We made pinatas. They were very messy but fun. The children in this group are a lot nicer. I have several siblings of the kids I had last week. My old kids missed me and were sad that I was not in their group. Eventually we had to say bye for the day.
After the volunteer meeting, Justin, Michele, Natalia and two new volunteers, Richard from London and Niko from Germany and I went out to dinner. We went to a resturant we had been to before. We talked about various things. There were many people who came in asking for money by playing music or singing. We had one kid who sang and when we offered him food instead, he just stared and didn´t know what to do. After a while, we paid the bill went back to the hostel. At the hostel, people are watching New Moon. Most of us are making fun of it.

Playing Cards
Day 20 (1-31-10)
I woke up around 9ish. I tried to edit my blog for publishing. I tried to upload some of the videos from yesterday but it was taking so long due to the internet speed. I then went to breakfast with Justin, Michele and two Americans. We ended up going to a resturant in San Blas. The portions were small, but so were the prices. In the end we decided that it wasn´t worth going to again, despite having a great view of most of the city.
After, we walked around before heading back to the hostel due to the rain. We hung out at the hostel for a bit. Eventually, Michele, Justin, Natalia and I went to get food. We tried searching various resturants but were unsuccessful. We eventually found a place that we got a lot for ten soles. It was pretty decent. It was fun talking about various thing. We then walked around more. We went to a grocery store to get some stuff.
After coming back to the hostel, I had a meeting with the two girls who I will be volunteering this week with. We have the youngest kids (4-5). )I am very excited. We are hoping to be Mexico for the week. We have some cool plans. Then I played card games with Michele, Justin and Natalia. It was a lot of fun. Then I talked to Abbey before watching American Gangster with people in the hostel. Then I pretty much relaxed for the rest of the evening.
